A product design test
The absolute best test task I’ve had — a 1.5-hour live workshop with Head of Product.
We opened a whiteboard and I was bombarded with “how would you” questions about an interface, seasoned with a list of current problems. Lovely brainstorm from my side. I asked dozens of questions about the current state of the product and explained how the answers would help me decide. I suggested numerous changes that later happened — though with lots of changes, because inside the company I finally had the data.
UNIT.City booking
Booking was not one system. Rooms, cars, the rest lived in web apps, analog methods, whatever the facility had lying around.
Brief: squeeze it into one coherent mobile interface. Fast to book, easy to scale, honest about current processes and tech limits.
I drove to the facility, mapped how booking actually happened — including the tablets by the rooms — and interviewed two staff.
Hired to design native iOS, Android, and web. Learned the industry, the processes, how to talk to people, and what working with young teams looks like. Not beautiful. Got the job done.
Mate academy course
The test was to re-record an outdated design intro video in Ukrainian.
I asked if I could change the structure, add more on top — not just retell. Shot v1. Scrapped it. Sent v2. Hired.
